Waiting on Wednesday: Bloody Rose

Originally hosted by Breaking the Spine, Waiting on Wednesday has now linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings and it’s exactly as it sounds: we post about books that haven’t been published yet, but we’re salivating by the time the publication date hits.

This week, the reason I may have taken August 28th off of work is:

Bloody Rose by Nicholas Eames
Publication Date: August 28th, 2018

Tam Hashford is tired of working at her local pub, slinging drinks for world-famous mercenaries and listening to the bards sing of adventure and glory in the world beyond her sleepy hometown.

When the biggest mercenary band of all rolls into town, led by the infamous Bloody Rose, Tam jumps at the chance to sign on as their bard. It’s adventure she wants – and adventure she gets as the crew embark on a quest that will end in one of two ways: glory or death.

It’s time to take a walk on the wyld side.

I don’t think it’s surprising to anyone who knows me how excited I am for Bloody Rose. Reading Kings of the Wyldit easily became one of my favorite books of all time. Considering how many books I’ve read and how many fantastic books there are, I think that alone shows how truly amazing this book is. Tie in the fact that not only did I go and buy my own copy after renting it from the library to read it, but I’ve also shoved it on my entire family (even begging my non-reading-Dad to read it, because the music references are right down his alley) and pretty much every reader that I know (and then some who aren’t, as evident above).

Between the humor, the worldbuilding and the characters who ensnared my heart and will never let go, Kings of the Wyld was the type of debut that this author dreams about writing at her peak. Considering this was Eames’ debut, I can only imagine that Bloody Rose is going to take everything that made me fall in love with the first book and amplify it even further–and this time, with more girl power.

Yeah, I can get on board with this, absolutely.
