Waiting on Wednesday: The Signs of Nine

WWW

Originally hosted by Breaking the Spine, Waiting on Wednesday has now linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings and it’s exactly as it sounds: we post about books that haven’t been published yet, but we’re salivating by the time the publication date hits.

This week, the book that got a cover and now has me squeeing to all ends of the Earth is:

Warlock Holmes: The Signs of Nine by G.S. Denning
Publication Date: May 21st, 2019 by Titan Books

“If you ever wondered how much better Sherlock would be if people could hurl hellfire at each other, well this one is for you.” Starburst Magazine on A Study in Brimstone

Warlock Holmes may have demons in his head, but now Dr. John Watson has a mummy in his bloodstream. Specifically that of the sorcerer Xantharaxes, who when shredded and dissolved in an 8% solution, results in some extremely odd but useful prophetic dreams. There’s also the small matter of Watson falling for yet another damsel-du-jour, and Warlock deciding that his companion needs some domestic bliss…

I just positively adore this series. It’s the perfect romp when you want to read a fantasy twist on Sherlock Holmes that is never ending when it comes to humor and it just constantly makes me feel good when I read it. I binge these books in less sittings than it takes to count on one hand and I just absolutely adore them. So seeing the cover for the fourth installment (and so much red) just has me giddy. If you haven’t checked out this series, now is the perfect time to do so!

Read on!

      1. Hopefully a local library should have it? If not, you could definitely suggest it and they usually won’t mind buying them, especially since it’s from a bigger publisher. I’d love to hear what you think, though! It’s a great series and perfect to get you back into reading, I bet!

      2. Gosh, I can understand that. I know B&N definitely sell his books! Hopefully they can order it in, if they don’t have it. That sucks you’re not close to the library, though. 😦

    1. If you do end up reading it, I’d love to hear what you think! This is an author and series I’d love to see getting more love. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out. ❤

    1. Ohmygosh, YES. I want to hear all about your thoughts on this series! The author is so sweet and his series hasn’t gotten NEARLY enough love. It’s hilarious and wonderful.
