I have no idea what I am supposed to do now.

Seriously.

None.

This is one of my favorite series of all time and this ending–The Burning White–it did not disappoint. It surprised me, it wowed me, it shocked me, it hurt me, it made me feel everything you could ever hope a reader would feel when reading one of your works and then more, because that shows just how much your reader became invested the world you created and the characters you invented to live there.

Well, I became so damn invested that I don’t know what to do know that it’s over.

Like, I loved this book. I L O V E D it. It wrapped everything up and there were surprises and heartbreak and was just so masterfully executed, I can’t. But it’s just…I’ve invested so much into these characters and now it’s over? It just ends here? What happens next? How do their lives continue? I mean, Weeks has gotta know, right? What new problems arise, what new joys, what new sorrows? We get a glimpse, of course, but I am still craving so much more and trying to be content that we got five AMAZING and glorious books with characters and a world so fleshed out that I’m shook, but at the same time, I’m greedy and I just don’t want to leave yet? Like, I feel in love with the characters here and I just want to follow the rest of their lives, you know?

*sighs*

This book hangover–nay, this series hangover–is gonna suck.

(I realize this is pretty shitty review, as far as reviews go. I haven’t told you what happened in the book or rated the plot or even mentioned a single characters’ name, but this review is complete. But honestly, to review a book like this? That is such a masterful conclusion to a series that is unlike anything else I’ve ever read and will stay with me for the rest of my life? A series so impactful, I’m considering naming my daughter after one of the characters? A series that is one of the few I ever reread, in order to fully prepare and appreciate what The Burning White is and was?

5 stars
I rate this 5 out of 5 gems!

  1. Haha, I have written one or two reviews like this before, so I understand the feeling! It’s great that you got to enjoy a strong conclusion to a favourite series, even if it wrecks you for a little while ;P
