Well, we’ve made it to another year, friends. We all know how much 2021 wasn’t my year. I’m sure you all also know how stubborn I am, which is why I’m making intentions of how I want to live this year, despite: still being in a global pandemic; living under a government that doesn’t give a shit about anyone but the 1%; amidst climate emergency; and various personal situations, issues and hardships. My 2022 intentions are me fighting back and trying to reclaim what little I can, even living in a world where the “unprecedented” has really just been my reality.
My 2022 intentions all tie together into one, key theme: create ways to support, encourage and protect my happiness this year–which has been sorely lacking. Today, I am attempting to manifest some positivity by throwing this into the void and seeing what sticks.
So, let’s check it out, shall we?

2022 Intentions
Foster Growth and Support through Routine
Is it a surprise that I have found no routine since 2019? No, I don’t think I need to explain why that’s been hard to come by. I won’t claim that I can trust there to be enough consistency to feel confident in the direction of the world–or my life, to be frank. But I do want to strive to create daily habits that sustain me and support me much better than the limbo these past two years have been.
This includes:
- Finding movement I enjoy and can regularly partake in
- Creating a morning and evening routine
- Correcting my sleep schedule
- Writing, reading and being creative regularly
Ever since the pandemic started, I’ve been struggling (to the shock of absolutely no one). Especially since my day job has become toxic (yet currently stuck in, due to financial need), I have: struggling with my sleep, had increased depression and anxiety, lost motivation and burned out.
I’m not so naΓ―ve to think that creating a routine is going to magically solve all of these issues. But, I am hopeful enough to believe it’ll help, so that is a main focus: finding a routine that supports me and is flexible enough that I can adjust on a whim, since that’s the status of the world, right now.
Organize and Prioritize
I’m Type A in pretty much all it’s forms, so I love me some good organization. In the upheaval of the panini, that’s fallen to the wayside. Not only that, but my priorities shifted in survival mode, becoming (complicatedly) both clearer and yet unattainable at the same time.
I want to get back on track in both respects. Namely:
- Spend the year doing a deep clean and organization of our home
- Realign (as much as I can) my life with my values and priorities
- Writing, for example, needs to be prioritized much more
- Paying off debt that has grown over the past few years (thanks to vet and unexpected medical and new diagnosis)
I’ve been hesitant to truly invest in our home, since we rent. It’s not the nicest place and could use a lot of work, yet we never wanted to stay here long term. But, buying a house is nowhere in the cards and, as the pandemic continues to worsen, we’ll be staying as close to home as we can for the foreseeable future. What better time than to organize, deep clean, declutter than now?
In terms of priorities, my writing in particular has plummeted, for various reasons. I want to prioritize that. I also want to find a better mental balance between doing what I want and what I need to do to survive, particularly financially.
Grow Creatively
This is in many areas. I want to write more regularly, creating a routine and building confidence in that area again. Reading is something that went by the wayside that I miss greatly. Blogging is obviously important to me. Freelance editing I want to continue to build and grow. I just relaunched my Patreon.
So, continuing to grow creatively is important to me. Particularly, I’d love to:
- Reach over 1,000 followers on my blog (currently 921)
- Work with multiple clients and focus on building a community
- Create routines for writing and reading, making them staples of my daily life
- Start building the foundations of support through areas of Patreon and my newsletter

The Next Three Months
Lots of intentions! I’ve also tried to narrow it down a bit, since tracking intentions in every area of my life, like I tried last year, becomes a bit overwhelming. I still plan to pursue intentions in those areas, of course. I might not be speaking to it as much here online.
I also want to break my 2022 intentions down into more manageable bits, focusing three months at a time. For the first quarter of 2022, my main intentions are:
- To create a morning, evening and sleep routine
- Write each week more than I didn’t (goal: 4x per week)
- Organize our kitchen, garage, and living room
I appreciate you rooting for me, friends! And I’d love to hear from you! Are you making intentions or goals this year? What are they? Is there any way I can support you? Let me know in the comments.
Manifesting positive, restful, safe and healthy months ahead for each of us. β€
