Can you believe it’s finally August? I certainly can’t. Though August is a month where I usually hope for the turn to fall (I know it’s too early, let me dream); it’s also a very special month this year. Particularly today. Today, ARC sign-ups to read BLOOD PRICE early open up!
Check out more details below and potentially sign up yourself!

ARCs Logistics Rundown
I know most of you are aware of what ARCs are, but for those who don’t, let’s do a quick explanation! ARC stands for “Advanced Reader Copy” and are full copies of a book that are exchanged with reviewers for an honest review. Authors and publishers use these to help drive up hype before a book comes out.
Expectations + Commitment
I am offering eARCs (electronic copies; print books are too expensive for me to distribute at this time!) to those who are interested! The exchange, as explained above, is receiving a free electronic copy of the book, which you’ll read and then write your honest thoughts about it. That’s it!
Because ARCs and author/reviewer relationships can be such hot topic issues, I also wanted to make clear a few things, where I stand.
- I give you a copy of the book in good faith that you’ll write and share a review. But this is no requirement and I will not come after you if you don’t write a review. Nor will I be publically shaming reviewers who don’t post before the publication date (Oct. 1st). Or shaming reviewers ever, really. They do too much great work (unpaid!) to attack them or hold them to a ridiculous, unfair standard.
- Honest reviews mean honest reviews. You’re allowed to give 1 star! It is your opinion and you’re entitled to it!
- However, I do ask that you do not tag me in reviews, positive or negative. I will not be reading them, as reviews are for readers, not authors! This is a choice for my own mental health. If I quote a review or use it for promotional purposes, it’s because someone trusted from my writing group read your review and picked a quote for me to use.
It’s sad that we even have to have those disclaimers. For me, it’s obvious that a) not everyone who signs up for an ARC is going to read it. B) not everyone is going to enjoy it. C) not everyone who reads it and enjoys it is going to do is in a good “marketing” timeframe. (I am years behind on the ARCs I’ve received.) But, considering we’ve seen both awful author and ridiculous reviewer behavior online in the past, I just wanted these things to be clear upfront.
Tl;dr version: I’m offering eARCs where I hope you read it and enjoy it, but I’m honestly not checking, keeping track or engaging aside from sending you said ARC.
Timeline and Sign-Up
The eARC request form is live! You can fill it out at by clicking the link or by filling out the form below. I hope to get eARCs sent out this weekend for those who request today. But if you don’t hear from me in a few days, that’s normal! I’m fitting these in between a busy day job, working with clients on my second job and just life in general.
So, please give me a week to send you a copy from the date you requested!

In Sum
Thank you so much for your interest in BLOOD PRICE ARC! It’s both exciting and terrifying to have this book actually go out into the world. But, I really hope you enjoy it. And, no matter if you leave a 5 star or a 1 star review; review it in three days or three years from now; from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for your time, your interest, your support and your hype!

Oh my gosh, Nicole, CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is sooooooo amazing! I’m so happy for you :). I’m proud of you, too! Writing a book is no easy feat and you DID THIS. Awwww, I can’t wait to read this for myself and am absolutely going to buy it as soon as I can! HECK YES! YOU WROTE A BOOK, AHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Michael AHHHHHHH!!! Thank you so much!! I’m seriously so excited and so terrified at the same time but very, very stoked to see her out in the world. I’m so honored you want to get a copy!! 😭
And I am going to carry it with me all the time and tell EVERYONE I run into that, “This is a really great book and – not to brag or anything – I know the author. We’re blogging friends and we read each other’s stuff and now she wrote a book and this is it and that’s pretty awesome and I bet you’re feeling jealous now, right?” It’ll be legendary!
Ahhhhh this comment made my entire day, Michael! Thank you so, so much! 😭😭😭
You’re so welcome, Nicole! I also have specific plans to read this in public all the time, too. People are always reading at coffee shops and chatting about bookish stiff so THEN people will ask about it and I can do my planned raving about your novel and low key bragging that the author and I are blogging buddies :D. I see loads of coffee shops in my future.
Why are you the sweetest ever!!? 😭 Thank you so much, Michael! This means everything!
