Hello, lovelies!
Everyone knows how much I love Kathy @ Pages Below the Vaulted Sky, so it’s no surprise that when she announced a new Reading Bingo Challenge that focuses on Black Lives Matter and making it a habit to read books by black authors on the regular, that I had to jump in on this.
You can read more about the Tarot Black Lives Matter Reading Bingo Challenge here and I hope you sign up, too! Not only does it have a great bingo card, but it also has giveaways!
Here is the bingo card:
I am really excited about this. I’m not sure if I’ll get the full bingo card filled out, but I am already hoping to read some more books by black authors this year (and forevermore) anyway, so I thought this would be fun to participate in!
Books I Hope to Read:
- Queen of the Conquered by Kacen Callender
- The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter
- Binti by Nnedi Okorafor
- A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A Brown
- War Girls by Tochi Onyebuchi
- The Prey of Gods by Nicky Drayden
- Whispers of Shadow and Flame by L. Penelope
- Do You Dream of Terra-Two? by Temi Oh
- Daughters of Nri by Reni K. Amayo
And those are only a few on my radar! I’d love to hear more fantasy or sci-fi books by black authors that you’ve adored or that you’re really excited about, as I’m always looking for more! And I hope you’ll join me, if not on this awesome challenge, but in reading more black books by black authors (which most definitely includes LGBTQIA+ authors, as well), not just today, or this month, but this year and always.
Cheers.
You are going to LOVE the Rage of Dragons. I haven’t read it myself yet, but omg, it seems so far up your alley.
Ohmygosh, right!? I am hoping to read that one pretty soon here, actually, because it seems perfect for me!
Oh my god what an amazing challenge, I love it so much, such a fantastic idea. I love your TBR as well, Nicole and can’t wait to hear your thoughts on all of these, especially on A Song of Wraiths and Ruin, I’ve heard amazing things about this book! 🙂
Isn’t it awesome? I love it, I think Kathy did an amazing job. I can’t wait, either! I’d be curious to see what books you’d add to this list, especially since we read in different genres! 😀
