Hello, lovelies!
Happy February! I hope this next month is kind to you and that you read some truly amazing books! I sorta surprised myself how much I enjoyed having a monthly TBR, though I also admit that it did stress me out a little bit when I started to reach the end of the month and I didn’t read all of the books I’d ambitiously put on there.
So, I’m going to try it again, because I did enjoy having a solid set of books I planned to read, without becoming overwhelmed by the choices, yet I also need to be kinder and remind myself that reading is a hobby, something to help me relax against the stress of the world.
Last month, I had 8 books on my TBR and I ended up reading 4 of them, so not too shabby! Of course, I do plan on reading the books I didn’t get to (Jade War in particular, I am so sorry) in the future, but for this month, I want to focus on reading some books I own by Black authors, to help celebrate Black History Month!
Of course, it goes without saying that you should read and celebrate Black authors and their books throughout the entire year! So, I’m excited to attempt another ambitious TBR, starting with two left over books from last month that I *must* read for client work, before moving onto some other reads.

Books I Want to Read in February
Goal # Read: 4-6 Books
Books on this List: 8 books
Finish The Kingshold series by D.P. Woolliscroft
I read books in-between the first two books in the series last month as a palate cleanser, but now I need to get my butt in gear and finish these last two, before I work on Dave’s WIP this month!
The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter
I’m not sure how I haven’t read this book yet, but I’ve heard nothing but amazing things and I already have the sequel, so I need to get ON THIS.
Binti: The Complete Trilogy by Nnedi Okorafor
Also, I haven’t read anything by Nnedi Okorafor yet. How? Why am I like this? I got this for Christmas and I am so excited to dive in.
Do You Dream of Terra Two by Temi Oh
My sister got this for me for Christmas and I honestly don’t know much about the premise of the book, but the title and the cover just captivated me, so yes please.
Whispers of Shadow and Flame by L. Penelope
I seriously enjoyed the first book and I am ANXIOUS about what happens next and I’m not sure I’m ready. Oops.
Queen of the Conquered by Kacen Callender
Kacen Callender has done such amazing work writing such across genres and age ranges, so I need to start reading their work, stat.
Me and White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad
I’m not going to lie: I am *really* excited for this one.

Will I actually conquer this mountain of a TBR? Most likely not. Lucky for me, books don’t have expiration dates, so my focus is going to be making reading a habit again so that way, even if I don’t make it through all of these books, I will definitely not be putting them off for much longer.
What about you? Any TBR plans for February? Are you reading Black authors this month? Any Black authors you’d think I’d also enjoy, based off my TBR above? Let me know in the comments!!

Ooh, good books coming up! I loved the binti trilogy, and Do You Dream of Terra-Two really surprised me in all the good ways. π Enjoy!
Oooh, I am even more excited for them with your recommendations, Lisa!
You’ll need to tell me how the dragon book goes. You’ve totally got me into them! lol!
Hahaha, YAS. This pleases me greatly.
Oooo and now I have some more books added to my TBR….
I am the worst, this I know. π (But yes! *rubs hands evilly*)
