Welcome back to another monthly post in my Novels and Narrations blog series! In this series, you get updates on my writing in all facets: from the celebrations and excitements of the high moments, to dealing with imposter syndrome, hopelessness and rejections. Thanks, as always, for caring about my work as a writer and supporting me in this way. β€
Let’s see how the month went, shall we?
Monthly Recap
May was…a month. NaΓ―ve past me made the following goals for May:
- Finish fleshing out UNTITLED WIP outline
- …start writing fantasy romance? π
- Build better writing practices
Unlucky for me, this was completely ignored as life threw a lot of stress, punches and depression spirals my way. I plan on writing about that and processing next week, but needless to say, writing didn’t really happen.
I do have a reason to celebrate still, even if my writing was practically non-existent. I got edits back on BLOOD PRICE from my editor. This was a re-read report I booked to see how I incorporated her initial suggestions. Spoiler: SHE LOVED IT!

I’m a bit flabbergasted by that, but I’m also so proud of myself! I have worked really hard on this novel and, after cleaning up and proofreading, I’ll be entering back into the query trenches!
*nerves and excitement intensifies*
My goal for June (and July, honestly) is to edit BLOOD PRICE and prepare query materials. I am also trying to be realistic, because I’m entering the busiest time for my day job during this months, so I am going to be maxing out my reserves and most likely going to burn out doing work I can’t avoid. But, I miss writing. I even purchased a grammar guide to really nail some of the issues identified (fuck apostrophes, I guess). So, I don’t want to wait too long to dive in. Yet, I also want to make sure I don’t burn myself out more than already promised. π
Wish me luck!
That’s it for this month! My fellow writers, what are you working on? How can I support you? Let me know in the comments and thanks for supporting me in my own journey and reading another installment of Novels and Narrations! β€
