Quest for Discovery: Week Twenty Five

Hello, friends!
It’s mind blowing to me that June is already halfway done. Honestly, time just flies by too quickly for this kid to truly keep up with it. I’m bummed I haven’t been swimming nearly as much as I wanted to, but I’m really enjoying this summer schedule; kinda wish my hours were always aligned like this!

PB4Writing
Long-Term Goal: Write two new books and edit two books. Enter the query trenches.

Last Week’s Goal: Enjoy writing break.

  • Status: Affirmative, Commander. And I got a game plan in motion. Taking a break until after Independence Day, then I’ll be editing Artemis one last time before querying it widely. After that, it’ll be first round of edits for Blood Price before sending that to betas and then the first round of edits for Artemis, book two, before finally (hopefully) getting another round of edits done for Blood Price to round out the year.

Weekly Goal: Enjoy writing break (effective until July 9th).

Reading
Long-Term Goal: Read every day, finishing up some old series and keeping up with new ones.

Last Week’s Goal: Read every day. Write review.

  • Status: Affirmative, Commander. Didn’t finish the book, but I’ll hopefully knock it out tonight, if not tomorrow. Though this isn’t my favorite one, I’m super excited to start my next read!

Weekly Goal: Read every day. Write review.

Fitness
Long-Term Goal: Continue living a healthy lifestyle and shaping a body I love and am proud of.

Last Week’s Goal: Workout 4x. Log food.
Status: Affirmative, Commander. Had a good workout week last week and food week, until the weekend, when I completely let myself off the handle and ate way too much. But hey, every day is a different opportunity to continue being the best person you can be–and sometimes, that definitely includes cookies.
Weekly Goal: Workout 4x (assuming the weather holds). Log food.

Financial
Long-Term Goal: Learn to have a healthy relationship with money and build my savings.

Weekly Goal: *didn’t have one because I somehow forgot to actually include that?*

  • Status: Affirmative, Commander.

Weekly Goal: Pay off credit card and put money in savings.

Spiritual
Long-Term Goal: Reconnect with God and grow personally to live more like Jesus.

Last Week’s Goal: Start devotional. Continue to pray and trust in God more.

  • Status: Negative, Commander. Haven’t been thinking about this at all. Definitely need to make this more of a priority.

Weekly Goal: Start devotional.

Carpe Diem
Long-Term Goal: Find a reason to smile every day and something to get excited about weekly.

Last Week’s Goal: Enjoy my writing break and get stoked for Sporting this weekend!

  • Status: Affirmative, Commander.

Weekly Goal: Find a reason to be happy every day. Plus, get excited for Jurassic World!
PB4
Last weekend was really awesome: between a needed DnD session that felt too short (but it was cut short because of me, so there is that) and a much needed catch-up session with the bestie, plus another Sporting match with my man, the start of the World Cup and seeing my family (and his) for Father’s Day; yeah, last weekend was really, really lovely! Looking ahead, however, that isn’t a weekend where there isn’t something planned in…a while, it feels like. But I’m excited for whenever that weekend arrives, because I’m either going to not move from my couch or the pool.
I can’t decide what sounds more glorious.
Cheers.

Quest for Happiness: Week Twenty Five

Fitness:

  • Long-term Goal: Shape the body I want and become healthier.
  • Last Week’s Goal: Workout 5x and stay on target with calorie goal.
    • Status: Not exactly. Um, I didn’t work out at all last week and let me tell you, my mood certainly reflected that. Until the weekend, I was on target with the calorie goal, but then I definitely went well over it two days in a row. So it wasn’t my best week for the fitness goal.
  • This Week’s GoalWorkout 5x and stay on target with calorie goal over the weekend.

Writing:

  • Long-term Goal: Edit three books, write four new books and query at least one.
  • Last Week’s Goal: Edit chapter.
    • Status: Killed it. Goal was to finish one chapter and I ended up editing three.
  • This Week’s Goal: Finish this round of edits on Artemis.

Reading:

  • Long-term Goal: Read 60 books.
  • Last Week’s Goal: Pick one book out the five awesome choices to read next.
    • Status: Yes? I actually forgot this was my goal and I did decide to start Dark Immolation, but I didn’t actually start reading it yet. So technically, I guess I did complete this goal, even if I didn’t read very much.
  • This Week’s Goal: Read Dark Immolation.

Relaxation:

  • Long-term Goal: Create and maintain a mindset that taking care of yourself is just as important as everything else.
  • Last Week’s Goal: A lot of reading, a lot of tanning and a lot of orc slaying.
    • Status: Yep. I didn’t swim at all, but I did beat Shadows of Mordor, which was pretty rad.
  • This Week’s Goal: Swim 3x and finish Sherlock.

Blogging:

  • Long-term Goal: Increase output over all three blogs, i.e., post more consistently.
  • Last Week’s Goal: Blog twice.
    • Status: Success!
  • This Week’s Goal: Blog twice on both personal and book review blog.

Financial:

  • Long-term Goal: Manage money with more awareness, start retirement fund and build savings.
  • Last Week’s Goal: Resist the growing temptation to buy shit.
    • Status: Not really.
  • This Week’s Goal: Stay on budget.

A pretty okay week for Week 24. It was definitely a strong writing week, which honestly, if I had to fail at every other goal in order to have a good writing week, I’d definitely make that trade. I would like to get back on the running bandwagon, though, because my mood was certainly a little bleaker all week last week. And though I don’t think not working out wasn’t the sole cause, I do think it had a hand in it.
Here’s to killing more goals this week!
Cheers.
