Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! Once hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, it is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It’s a weekly book feature where a topical list-prompt is posted and readers respond with their top ten for that prompt. Yours truly tends to go over ten, but hey, what can a passionate reader do?
This week’s topic is: Books On My Fall TBR
*can’t just list “all of them”, since made that joke a few posts back*
*begins to type it out anyway, because it’s still completely true*
Well, I am the absolute worst with not only making a TBR, but also sticking to one. But, if I was magically able to stick with one, this is what I’d like to read during the next few months…
The Bone Ships by RJ Barker: I mean, considering Barker’s first trilogy took me by storm and completely shattered me in all the best ways, now you’re telling me he wrote a book about pirates and ships made out of dragons? I mean, this will most definitely be read before October is over, I have no doubt.
System Failure by Joe Zieja: Such an underrated series, Zieja’s sci-fi comedy is just such a fantastic blend of slapstick humor, yet characters who are also filled with a lot of heart and who you can’t help to root for. I have been waiting for this one to come out for a while and I am SO excited for it.
Velocity Weapon by Megan O’Keefe: I love O’Keefe’s writing and her first trilogy and have been stoked to see her take into the sci-fi genre. But, when her book came out, I got myself into a bit of a sci-fi rut, so I have been saving it until I’m in a better mood to read it before I do. Soon…
The Wolf of Oren-yaro by K.S. Villoso: One of my most anticipated reads and it came as a surprise ARC! So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if I read this earlier rather than later.
The Name of All Things by Jenn Lyons: Lyons debut absolutely floored me and the only thing that impressed me more is her rigorous publishing schedule. So yeah, most definitely hoping to get my hands on this here soon after it’s published!
You Only Love Twice by Bec McMaster: I forgot how incredible of a writer McMaster was and now, all I want to do is binge all of her books that I haven’t yet read. Who knows, perhaps the reason I failed reading the books on this list is because I end up doing just exactly that. *shrugs*
Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb: I am about a third of the way through the first novel in this series and I can already tell that I’m falling in love. I hope that I don’t delay continuing to read her work like I did finally starting one of her novels.
The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare: Why haven’t I read this yet? WHY.
Forever Your Earl by Eva Leigh: This series just sounds incredible and each new book that comes out makes me want to read it, but I want to read them in order, so I definitely need to get started reading this series.
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers: If I do get into a sci-fi mood, I definitely hope this is one of the reads I finally tackle. I am so overdue.
What books made it on your list? Any books that you love from mine? Let me know in the comments below and please, share your TTT (or any other post you’ve written recently) with me so I can pop by!
Read on!
Omg I’m the same. Can’t stick to a TBR at all. So I cheated this week and did a list of my fav books I read in Autumn last year LOLLLLLL 😂😂😂😂
Hahahaa, that’s fantastic!! I should do that, next time. 😛
Oooo, you haven’t read Long Way yet? It’s so good, excellent found family/space crew book. You know, Sci-Fi November is coming up if you’re looking for an excuse to shake yourself out of the rut….😉
I haven’t! Though I am like, 105% sure I’m going to love that book, so I’m really hopeful I enjoy it. I even got it for Christmas last year and still, no luck! Hmm….maybe you’re right…
I’m drooling over some of those books I’ve never heard of, now for the time to read them.
Yay! I hope you found some good ones to enjoy!
The Bone Ships has been on lots of lists this week. I’m curious about it, too!
My TTT.
I am not surprised! Barker is a master!
I liked your list, too! I definitely still want to get into Cixin Liu, so I’m hoping to check out his work soon, too!
That’s a good list you have there. Velocity Weapon was good and I think you’ll really like The Wolf of Oren-Yaro.
I don’t know if I’ll stick to mine, but here’s a quick list just for October and Early November:
– Dragons of Autumn Twilight (for the Dragonlance read-along)
– Vicious by V.E. Schwab
– City of Ghosts by V.E. Schwab
– The Narrows by Travis Riddle
– The Light Brigade by Kameron Hurley
– Fusion World by Jospeh Tamone
– The Wolf of Oren-Yaro (maybe)
I am very excited for both of them!!
Ooooh, you have a solid list, there! I’ve always been curious about Kameron Hurley’s work. I hope you enjoy those reads!
The Bone Ships is definitely on my list, and I’m excited about The Wolf of Oren Yaro, but that’s a 2020 release so for me it will have to wait😁
I hope we both enjoy both of them! 😀
I’m also ridiculously bad at reading from the TBRs I create for these posts. I’m such a mood reader that it’s almost impossible to predict what I’ll want to read at any given time. I hope you enjoy whatever you do end up reading.

Exactly! Still, it’s fun to get excited about what I might read and to see how much I alter away from what I think I *might* read. I hope you do, too!
Oh, but I really like how you made your list on Instagram!! That is so neat!!
I’m so hoping to read The Name of All Things, too!! I ADORED book one. Although I feel like I need to take time off work to read that story so I can give it 100% of my attention XD XD
Gosh, you’re telling me. Especially because I think this book is going to be as thick, if not thicker, than book one!
Some intriguing titles on this list. o.O The only reason I know I’ll stick to mine is because I already have all the books on hold at the library, which will want them back eventually. 😉 My TTT
Thank you! And that’s perfect. I think I have one or two titles off my list I’m hoping to get from the library, so perhaps that will help motivate me to actually read them? 😛
Nice list on yours, too! I definitely have a couple of books on there (like Jonathan French and The Girl with Ghost Eyes) I still need to read books one of!
Happy reading! 🙂
System failure sounds good! The long way to a small angry planet definitely is!
I should have put some sci-fi on my list haha!
I hopeyou can get to all of them 🙂

Oh, I am so hoping it lives up to my expectations! I loved the first two books and highly recommend them, if you think they might be your cup of tea!
Thank you so much! I hope you read some good books here soon, too!
I am way overdue to read the Becky Chambers books too! And Robin Hobbs is on my (mental) list of authors I really should have read by now! Good luck getting to your TBR books, and enjoy!
My TTT
Yep, feel you on both of those! Though, I *just* started my first Hobbs book and I’m very glad to report it hasn’t disappointed yet, so we’ll see if it continues!
Oh man! Glad you’re liking Hobb’s book. Yea, don’t delay on the series. It gets more interesting as it goes on and the world expands, especially when you see how things from different books tie into each other. I’m on the last book of the Realm of the Elderlings series and am still hooked.
