Hi loves! It’s May again and you may know what time that means: it’s Wyrd and Wonder time! For those who are unfamiliar, Wyrd and Wonder is a month-long celebrating of all things fantasy related. I love it because it’s a very lowkey celebration, so when life gets in the way (as it often does) and I forget to plan (as I did yet again this year), I can still participate.
So, here’s how I plan to join in on the adventure.
Wyrd and Wonder 2022
So, like I mentioned before, Wyrd and Wonder makes it super easy to participate! The most basic way is to just read fantasy books. Usually, I’d share my list of books I plan to read, but since I haven’t read anything in a few weeks…oops. I’d love to see if this celebration gets me back into reading, but we’ll see.
Luckily, there are plenty of other ways to celebrate. You can check them all out here, but I’m going to highlight my two main plans below.
So, the main two ways I want to participate include Fantastic Top Fives and the Prompt Challenges.
- Fantastic Top Fives: these are topical lists based off prompts that I think will be super fun.
- Daily Prompt Challenge: This was something I did last year, but in a very different way. Instead of doing it daily, I answered the prompts in a weekly list format (example here). I don’t think I’ll have a bandwidth to do every prompt again, (nor in a weekly format). So instead, I think I’ll do one post where I answer any prompts that look interesting. Because the rules are flexible and breaking them helps me, so…🤷♀️
Super lowkey this year, I know. I would have liked to write up some posts in advance and be better prepared (or even come up with a TBR to get motivated), but…yeah. Here we are instead.
Regardless of whether I’m participating to the level I hoped to, I’m still glad I am participating in Wyrd and Wonder! It’s an awesome way to celebrate all things fantasy. I hope you check out others who are participating–or perhaps even join in on the fun yourself.
A super short introduction post to the celebration from me today, but hopefully, it helped get this on your radar, if it wasn’t already. Let me know if you plan on participating, so I can check out your posts!
